Ok so I made this blog about Atlanta Job Corps--good and bad things. I only did it because I wanted change in the center and I think I accomplished that goal. However, I did not want to "slander" the Job Corps name and I didn't, even though I have been accused of this many times by other students and the few staff who know that I was the one who created the site. Yes, the living conditions are horrible, yes they could do better and what I wanted the blog to be was a motivator--to motivate us students and staff to do better! We went 3 days without hot water during the Christmas break. Staff have been told about the situation and I called the radio station. Homeless shelters even have hot water! I know, because I have lived in them! Within a few hours, the hot water was back on. I talked about that with the Center Directer and I apoligized for the site--but it expressed how I felt, and I definetly want to move forward. I have no grudge against Job Corps and never did, I just wanted change--for the better. Always for the better. And that is why I have this blog. America sucks when it comes to organizeing--the government I mean. Look at what happened during Katrina! Look at our economy--it sucks! Look at the average age of a homeless person--only 9 years old. A child.
I know that our CD is only one person and she is human and can only do so much. I was wrong in taking some of the blame on her and I apologized to her for that. The last thing I wanted to do was to make her feel bad or "cause the Atlanta center to be shut down"
Students depend on Job Corps--and I am one of them. On the blog, I was accused of not saying anything good about the program but I just want to argue that I did--more than once. In fact, my first sentence in the first post proclaimed what a great program Job Corps is.
